This digital compilation offers a rare peak inside the Brooklyn underground. Like an inversion of it’s namesake, the Ocropolis was Oneida’s subterranean studio hidden in the basement of Monster Island in Williamsburg, Brooklyn (Brooklyn underground…get it). From the avant garde(Emily Manzo) to dub(DubKnowDub), and country rock(Oakley Hall) to experimental pop(Akron Family), this comp covers some pretty amazing territory. Recorded at the Ocropolis by Brah Records. The download is accompanied by the art as well as a booklet containing exclusive photos of the sessions by Zach Lehrhoff of Knyfe Hits.
Koozies & Woodies & Beers was released on Brah and Jagjaguwar. All profits from this release will be donated to Ashinaga http://www.ashinaga.org/en/ and JOICFP http://www.joicfp.or.jp/en/, two Japan Relief agencies recommended to Brah by Shinji Masuko.
